Merry CHRISTmas

It is final folks, we are clearly in the Christmas season. I have a few thoughts and a song that I am going to post on here for you to read.

My first thought is that this season is not about getting, it is about giving. It doesn't matter how many presents you get. It is really about the people involved and the blessing that comes from giving. Here are some ideas if you do not have any money to buy somebody something and you still want to remember them with a gift at Christmas: make them a nice card and tell them how much you love them, write a song for them, or you can even write a story for them and send it to them.

Secondly we must remember that this season is not about Santa Claus, it is about the birth of Jesus Christ, who came to us as a baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes. He came to pay the final price for our sins, so that we did not have to die. His sacrifice is our salvation, our free gift of eternal life.

My third thought is that if you want to learn more about the birth of Jesus Christ, and really see how the events leading up to His birth most likely happened, there is an event called "Follow The Star" that is a living nativity. It takes place on the first two weekends of December at the Gladstone Adventist camp grounds. And it is free!

Forthly, many scholars debate the identity of the Star of Bethlehem. But it was a real star and if you want to understand all about the Star I highly recommend you watch "The Star of Bethlehem", which is from producer Stephen McEveety, who also did the Passion of the Christ. It will blow your mind in the most wonderful way and open to you realms of things you didn't know!

My fifth and final thought about the season is to share a song with you. It is my favorite song of the Christmas Season. I like it because, while many people forget the true meaning of Christmas, this song helps us all remember that CHRISTmas is about coming to see and worship that baby that came so long ago to save the world.

It is indeed a wonderful season to celebrate the birth of Jesus and to spend time with family. Even though there are many troublesome things going on in the world, we have to remember that Jesus ordains the days of men. We need to give Him all the praise.
